  Driving home, I continued to feel the vibration - only it was slightly worse. I discovered that one of the wheel-weights was not on the tyre at all. I phoned the service department back, and was told it was on the inside of the wheel.

  The sales staff would not get the car in that I wanted (Rav4 with Tech pack) and told me that there was only one left in Australia - 'right down the bottom of Australia'. I went home and 'Googled' the car, and found 2 in the Brisbane area, and 4 in Sydney.

  I went to Sydney and bought my new Toyota Rav4, for a bargain price. On the way home, a wheel weight came off and I noticed the vibration through the steering wheel.

  I took my car to a quality tyre outlet, where it was found that both front wheels needed the balance corrected and in total they were out by 25g. The tyre outlet corrected Toyota's error free of charge.

  I then phoned Ballina Toyota and spoke with the Service manager, Dean, about the situation - as a customer I found the response very rude, with not so much as an apology.

  I arranged for a wheel balance to be carried out by the service department at Ballina Toyota, and made an appointment. It was a 10 - 15 minute job, but I had to wait 1.5hrs - 2 hrs, and was then told that there wasn't a vibration and that the wheel balances were fine - but they changed the wheels over.

  I may not have bought my car at Ballina Toyota - but that's their fault, and the fact is, Toyota have an Australia wide warranty and car servicing system. So, my expectation is that this will be honoured, and that as a customer I will be treated with honesty and respect.
